3 Weeks later, 15 to go...

With only a trimester to go almost, we are kicking it into high gear to get ready for this nugget! Everything is still going along beautifully. My chiropractor is my new best friend and Manny is a wonderful daddy already. We've been working VERY hard to reorganize the house to make room for The Baby Diaz! The garage has been gutted of clutter so we could move half of our junk out of our closets and into the garage. From there, our closets (yes there are 2 in our giant master bedroom) have been consolidated into one. The leftover empty closet has received a makeover and is practically the new nursery. Since Baby will be in our room we have limited "nursery" space, but it's all still super fun!! I've ordered $400 worth of cloth diapering stuff that should last me a good 18 months, we've ordered the crib and the stroller...we'll have to see what else we get off our registry!!! (Babies 'R" Us)

I'm also stoked because we have now enrolled in the Cord Blood Registry which will cyrogenicaly freeze the baby's cord blood (stem cells) for future use if anyone in the family ends up with any terrible illnesses. It has been shown to solve leukemia and other cancers as well as diabetes and MANY other genetic disorders. It's pretty amazing and imagining where this technology will be in 20 years is the most intriguing part.

I'll stop for now, if anyone would like further details or more info, feel free to ask!

Takin' after Aunt Virginia with the belly and the power tools...we'll see how long I last though!

It takes a village! We have already enrolled the help of Cokie to paint the room with Daddy-To-Be!

Baby's up and at 'em at 21 weeks!

Our active 10.5 inch little one is getting strong enough that Mama knows when The Baby Diaz is sleeping and awake. Daddy actually gets to play with TBD already in utero. :-)

This 20 week sonogram (taken at 20 weeks & 5 days) shows again textbook growth and development. The probability for any chromosomal disorders is slim to none. Tev has been feeling great and STILL has not gained a pound on her pre-pregnancy weight contrary to the imagery you see here with her protruding tummy. She is eating very well and taking care of all three of us. Her tummy is growing on a weekly basis and maternity clothes will soon be her only option!

They did a 3D ultrasound which kinda freaks us out a little. They are a bit creepy, but we figure we will entertain you with The Baby Diaz'z first 3D photo. The second photo here is back to the standard 2D, but you can see the baby's heart and blood flow. On the DVD, you actually see the pumping and hear the heartbeat...lubdub, lubdub, lubdub.....

Baby's First Dodger Game!

The babies first Dodger game was the 50th Anniversary of the Dodgers in LA on March 29, 2008. Location - Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Dodgers lost 7-4 to the Boston Red Soxs. :-( But we beat them the next day!

Our Babymoon was an amazing fun filled weekend with Dodgers games and fancy spa hotels. We started with the Exhibition game on Saturday, spent the weekend at the Shade Hotel and Spa located in Manhattan Beach which was a wedding gift from Tev's spectacular Aunt & Uncle, and enjoyed facials, professional massage, and dinner on the beach. We topped off the weekend by taking Monday off and enjoying the Dodger Home Game opener at Dodger Stadium. It was an INCREDIBLE weekend!

Week 19

Here we have Tev in our Yarden at 19 weeks next to the roses.

We have been seeing (and VERY pleased with) our midwife, Tonya Books. We are planning a natural home birth if at all possible, and if there is any reason we can not, we will be at Tonya's birthing center.

Although she is feeling much better across the board and her energy is back in full force, Tev started having some back pain early in the second trimester. Tonya knew it before Tev said a word. Apparently, the extra weight of the uterus, etc. has tilted Tev's pelvis and torsioned her uterus. I had nothing to do with that either (Manny). Seeing a chiropractor 3 times a weeks has straightened her all up and the back pain is pretty much gone completely.

Week 14

Here you have Tev at week 14.

Coming to the end of the first trimester she has no complaints of morning sickness or odd cravings. There is definitely an aversion to many foods and the more mild the better. Naps are among her favorite past-times right now and the strange human-growth exhaustion has been relatively relentless. The baby, at about 3.5 nches long head to rump, isn't poking through her belly yet, but the BLOATING has put her right into maternity clothes!

The Beginning

Hello family and friends!

Welcome to our baby blog. We have set this up for all those of you far far away and those who like virtual interaction.

Please stay posted for more pictures and status updates.

Below you see The Baby Diaz (TBD) on our first trip to the sonogram machine. TBD is about 3 inches long head to rump.

The doctor was surprised how active TBD was. He also commented how uncooperative TBD was.
